The world of CMYK is filled with mystery and misunderstanding often leading to pain and disappointment over how the color of your images is rendered. This program is designed to help you break through the fog and gain control over this important area. It will cover the main aspects of the RGB > CMYK conversion process including:
- Monitor calibration
- Correct use of profiles
- Soft proofing
- Handling out-of-gamut colors (…and what IS out-of-gamut color?…)
- Hard proofing (guide print)
- UPDIG—Standardizing the delivery of files
- We’ll share strategies for creating a sense of collaboration among essential partners in the CMYK workflow: Photographer, Designer, Printer.
- You’ll learn what questions to ask and what tools to use.
- You’ll learn how to create a guide print using your own inkjet printer that is a virtual match to the printer’s contract proof.
If your pictures end up as CMYK output (magazines, advertisements, brochures, etc.), this program is for you. It will help to strip away the mystery and move you closer to predictable color.
